FCT’s Valuation Solutions Department owns accountability for the introduction of innovative valuation products to the lender community. Focusing on the expansion of our in market PVII product through insurance coverage on values created from AVMs, desktops or drive-bys and a much more focused approach to the client experience when a full appraisal is required.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and deliver training and coaching programs
  • Responsible for research into real estate market trends
  • Effectively negotiate contracts with Suppliers as required
  • Undertake proof of concept projects
  • Review and completion of valuation assignments, both internal and external
  • Work cooperatively with team members across the organization
  • Experience in training, coaching, mentoring and developing Appraisers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software and relevant appraisal software
  • Exhibit a high level of professionalism and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship building ability, proactive, results-oriented, and resourceful
  • Expert knowledge of appraisal theory
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Respond to inquiries and effectively resolve negotiations in the interest of the organization
  • Ability to work remotely

Preferred Educational Background/Experience

  • University degree preferred
  • Designated member of CNAREA or the AIC
  • Minimum 5 years real estate appraisal experience
  • Previous theory and its practical application to valuation issues throughout the region
  • Ability to use sound judgment to resolve valuation challenges requiring urgent remedy
  • Good planning, prioritizing and organizational skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge related to the regulations, laws, acts, statutes, policies and objectives governing the real estate valuation industry

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:

  • Proven understanding of residential appraisal solutions
  • Familiarity with a variety of residential valuation services including AVMs (automated valuation models), desktops, drive-by, and full appraisals associated with residential real estate
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to deal effectively with all valuation partners
  • Creativity and resourceful problem solver
  • Ability to effectively analyze and review residential appraisals
  • Client focus orientation soundly balanced with corporate perspective
