Message from the President

Hello CNAREA Members.

As 2018 is quickly coming to a close, I would like to reach out to Wish Everyone and their Families the Happiest of Holidays, as well as passing along a few updates, to keep everyone informed.

Your Board of Directors wrapped up the Mid-Term meeting in Ottawa November 17, 2018, where a serious fine tuning of our “By-Laws” and “Policy & Procedures” was undertaken. In addition we went over the positive results of our financial and administrative restructuring efficiencies, a review of our Insurance, education program, and committee standings among many things. Overall it was very positive and highlighted the huge benefits for the direction and efforts we have undertaken, and bolstered our focus on forging forward. 2018 will end on a high, with 2019 set to eclipse all expectations. Personally it has made me very proud to see how much we have accomplished, and to once again interact with such a Hard Working and Dedicated Team.

Over many years there have been countless ideas tossed around, some have been rejected, while others have been acted upon. This past Monday Nov. 26 a special meeting of the Board of Directors was called to Order so we could discuss a bold idea that has been around for years. A decision was made, and I am proud to announce:

Your Board of Directors has approved a motion to take immediate actions to facilitate the Moving of CNAREA’s National Head Quarters to Ontario.

We believe this will create opportunities that will improve our operations and effectiveness by being more available and interactive with industry stake holders, amplifying our member benefits, and will bring The “Canadian National Association of Real Estate Appraisers” to the next level.

Nothing has been set in stone, however with this new mandate we will be diligently exploring our options and will take all the prudent steps necessary to make this happen. I ‘m excited to see this play out and I hope this news is seen as a positive for everyone in CNAREA.

Let’s all have a fun filled Holiday Season, everyone be safe, and have a Happy New Years.

JIM CARTY
